Franchise Audit Lab

A six-week cohort that walks controllers and senior accountants through configuring a financial auditing app for franchise reporting consistency—from chart mapping to auditor walkthroughs.

Notebook with financial planning notes

Learning outcomes

  • Publish a franchise-wide account mapping with documented exceptions.
  • Operate status lanes for blocked, waiting, and signed-off unit packs.
  • Assemble an evidence folder auditors can navigate without tribal knowledge.
  • Draft consolidation notes that reconcile royalties to the consolidated P&L.

Modules

Week 1 — Baseline & glossary

Inventory existing templates, define shared terms, and pick the fields your auditing app will treat as mandatory.

Week 2 — Mapping clinic

Align charts of accounts across brands; practice import validation and conflict resolution.

Week 3 — Exception queues

Design ownership rules for royalty mismatches, missing bank evidence, and late store packs.

Week 4 — Consolidation story

Build intercompany and royalty bridges that survive a walkthrough.

Week 5 — Evidence hygiene

File naming, retention windows, and export formats that match your auditors’ expectations.

Week 6 — Live close rehearsal

Run a sample period with peer review; capture a punch list for your next real month-end.

Franchise Audit Lab is included in the Close Bench seat (see Pricing). Network Loom cohorts can enroll up to eight learners. No checkout on this site—contact us to reserve seats.

Learner notes

“Week three’s queue rules are what stuck. Our franchisees finally stopped emailing screenshots into nowhere.”

The live close rehearsal was useful, though our data volume meant we only covered two brands in the allotted time. Plan buffer if you are mid-migration.

FAQ

Do I need a specific auditing software license?

You need access to whatever platform your company already uses. We demonstrate workflows that map to common financial auditing apps; we do not provide software seats.

Is this suitable for franchisees, or only HQ finance?

HQ and regional controllers get the most value. Franchisee admins can join Royalty Pack Rhythm first if they only submit packs.

What is a real limitation of this course?

We do not remediate years of corrupted historical mappings inside the cohort window. Teams with severe legacy debt should budget a separate cleanup project; the Lab will surface the debt, not erase it.

Are sessions recorded?

Live clinics are recorded for enrolled seats for 90 days. Office hours are not recorded so peers can share sensitive variance examples.
